Jim Croegaert

Q: How long have you been in the music business? - Daniel

A: I began playing in bands as a high school freshman, went on the road in 1965, so in some form or another ever since then. - Jim

Q: I’ve been following your work for quite some time now. I just wanted to know when you began writing music. - Ellie

A: I began to write in high school, though it developed more seriously after I went on the road as a musician in the late ’60’s. - Jim

Q: What was your inspirations led you when compiling the album, Cries and Blessings?

A: Good question. I finally recorded “Was It A Morning Like This” myself. “Workplace Blessing” originated out of a custom we have at the hospital where I work as a chaplain, of having a “Blessing” of space that is re-worked or that a department moves into anew. There is a live rendering of “We Come,” with Eileen Bechler singing the lead on the second verse. The album closes with “Blessing,” written originally for close friends as they returned (after six years here) to their native Australia.
